On behalf of the Brown Avenue PTO, a warm welcome to all new and returning families! We are looking forward to another great school year.

The PTO’s goal is to build strong working relationships among parents, teachers and faculty and to help create an environment at Brown Ave. where all students can learn and thrive. In addition to hosting a number of family events, our organization also helps to ensure that our children receive a quality education by funding enrichment programs that support the curriculum, as well as funding field trips and supplies that go above and beyond what is provided by the school district.

 Through the generous donation of time and money by the families of Brown Ave. in recent years, we were able to purchase much-needed air conditioners for the cafeteria, equipment and supplies for the music, phys ed and art classes, a subscription for every student either to Time for Kids or Scholastic Weekly Reader, as well as book sets. We had the playground seal coated, providing a nice, clean surface for last year’s fifth graders to then paint a map of the United States and other fun games for students to use during recess. We made it possible for the third-, fourth– and fifth-graders to go on field trips, provided the first– and second-graders with an in-school Biomes marine life workshop, put on a Holiday Celebration, including a magic show, for the entire school, and organized several evening family events.

We have already begun preparations for what we hope will be a number of fun activities that Brown Avenue students and their families will enjoy. Please consider lending a hand. We need your ideas and your ingenuity, your time and your talents. Every little bit helps. And all parents—moms and dads—are welcome!

General PTO Meetings

All parents are welcome at the General PTO Meetings, held in the school's cafeteria on the first Wednesday evening of the month at 6:00 p.m. unless noted otherwise in the school newsletter.


Parent volunteers are welcome to assist at PTO functions, including the Halloween Party, Scholastic Book Fair, Family Bingo Night, Healthy Kids Day and more.
Per District policy, all volunteers must have a cleared BCI check on file in the school office.
